Music Shuffle

This time I’m supposed to put my music on shuffle and share the 10 first songs. So here is a look to my music taste.

  1. Georgia in a Jug – Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton is one of my favorite artists and my ultimate favorite country singer. This may not be one of my favorite songs from him but I still like it.

2. God Gave Me You – Blake Shelton

This is actually one of my favorite songs from Blake Shelton. It is so earnest.

3. Dawsons Geek – Busted

Busted is one of my favorite bands from my youth. I still love them and was extremely happy when I learned that they had gotten back together. This is not one of my favorite songs but they have many great songs.

4. Good Country Song – Blake Shelton

I love this song because it reflects some of the reasons why I love country music. It’s different and it acknowledges that it’s not wrong to like a different genre of music than others.

5. Home – Blake Shelton

I like this song, but I prefer the Michael Buble version. Although, be being sung by either of these men it brings the same feelings to the surface for me. The Michael Buble version just was my first connection to this song, so I guess that’s why I prefer it.

6. Nerdy – Busted

I like this song. When I was younger I didn’t know why I connected to this song so well, but now that I’m older and have let my inner nerd roam free I do. Although the song is about the pain of loving someone who does not appreciate the person being nerdy, I feel like I connect to this song. I am a nerd, not necessarily in the way the person in this song is, but some people still find being a nerd not attractive or don’t like nerds in general. I have embraced my nerdiness and couldn’t be happier.

7. What if it All Goes Right – Melissa Lawson

To me this song is about embracing the moment and not worrying about the future. We make choices every day that influence our lives. Those chances make our life worth living. You should not be afraid of choosing a particular path just because it might be a mistake. I live my life with the philosophy that you regret the chances you didn’t more than those that you took and ended up being wrong for you.

8. I still Got a Finger – Blake Shelton

This song reflected how I felt so well the last summer I worked at a local farm. My employer was such a bitch. I sometimes still feel like this when people are getting on my nerves, I just wanna say fuck this and give them the finger. So I love this song.

9. La vida al reves – Fran Perea

I found Fran Perea’s music while watching the tv-series Los Serranos. He soon became one of my favorite singers. While I do not listen to his music as much anymore, I still sometimes go back. It brings back memories of my youth. And they are one of the reasons I know any Spanish at all and wish to learn more.

10. Just Like You – Three Day Grace

Three Days Grace is my go to band when I’m feeling pissed. The genre is perfect for blowing off some steam. I also like the songs and this song in particular. I think Just Like You was the first song I heard from the band and I was hooked from the first moment. I pride myself on being different and not fitting a mold. That’s probably why this song speaks to me.

10 Songs That I Love at the Moment

This time I am supposed to list 10 songs that I love at the moment, so here they are with some explanations.

1. Just Fishing – Trace Adkins

I love this song because of the feelings behind the song. It reminds me to enjoy the tiny moments that seem unimportant but end up being the most important.

I also created some more feels for myself connected to this song by connecting it to my character in our Doctor Who Role Playing Game. Basically I was creating the back story for the character and was thinking about their relationship with their father (who at the time of the game has been dead for several years) and thought that it would have probably been just like this song. Just spending time together not for a specific purpose but because it’s important. This relationship is the biggest reason my character is so balanced and comes to terms with the tragic death of their father so quickly.

2.The Good Stuff – Kenny Chesney

Another song to remind me about appreciating the small stuff in life. It is not about the successful job or amount of money you have but the people you love and the little moments you share with them. All the memories are worth so much more.

3.Little Bitty – Alan Jackson

I love this song because it resembles my attitude so much. I am small but I don’t care because it’s okay to be teeny. This song makes me feel better when I’m feeling down and brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.

4.Woman Like You – Lee Brice

This song appeals to the closet-romantic in me. Listening to this song makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. It also makes me smile when I listen to it so it is a great song. I also like Lee Brice as a singer so that makes the song even better.

5. This Ain’t Nothin’ – Craig Morgan

This song is a sad one. It makes me cry. But that is good, a song that can awake any emotion in me is worth listening to. The message of the song is also important. I like to think of myself as a person who does not worry over trivial things or things I can do nothing about. This song is a perfect example of that kind of mentality. Why care about losing material things if you have lost something or someone that’s more important.

6. Let Me Go – Christian Kane

I have actually listened to this song for years. I love it and I love Christian Kane. I don’t know if I can say anything else, I just simply love this song.

7. Meet You There – Busted

I think this is the first non-country song on this list. I found this song again just last summer and fell in love with the new version of it they recorded when they got back together. While they didn’t change it all that much, it still has a more mature sound now.

8. Don’t Blink – Kenny Chesney

This is another song to remind me to enjoy the little moments in life. Because life actually does fly by quite fast. It is important to enjoy the small moments that seem insignificant but end up being the most important. Like meeting a new friend or spending a day on the beach or anywhere with good friends or family. Sooner than you think those moments will be just a memory.

9. My Sentimental Friend – Herman’s Hermits

This is an oldie. I love these kinds of bands, Hermans Hermits, Beatles, The Kinks and many others. This song, even though it is a bit sad, usually makes me smile when I listen to it.

10. The World – Brad Paisley

This song makes me smile. It also appeals to the romantic living deep inside me. Let’s take a hypothetical situation. If I had a boyfriend I wish he would feel this way about me. Like I am his whole world. Appeals to the romantic in me but the realistic person I am I know it will not probably be like this.

Yet this is still one of my favorite songs from Brad Paisley.

Five Ways to Win My Heart

1.Be Kind to Animals

I love animals, as people who have followed me for some time should know. A sure fire way to win my heart would be to love animals and be kind to them. Because let’s be real, if I have to choose between Tintti, my beloved cat, and a potential significant other, Tintti wins paws down. I understand that not all people like animals, but for me animals are something that will be a part of my life forever, whether they be mine of my family’s, so no animal-haters for me. Show me that you appreciate those who do not have their own voice and you’re golden.

And my love does not end with pets, I love all animals, so if you think that wolves, sharks or any other animals should have no right to live where we live, then you can say goodbye to the hopes of ever getting my affections.

2.Buy Me the Correct Kind of Books

I love reading and a surefire way to win my affections would be to buy me a book I like. Not even my family members buy me books without asking me first. I would love nothing more than for someone to know me so well that they did not need to ask me what book I would like. Or at least listen to me prattling about my favorite books or book series enough to know which books I have and don’t have and be able to buy me some that I am missing.

So, a way to this girls heart is through books.

3. Play an instrument

I can not play any instruments so I appreciate the time and effort it takes to learn to play something. While this is not a requirement for a significant other for me, it is a huge plus. Any instrument is fine and I would love to hear them play.

To be honest, this probably has its roots in my childhood and one of my favorite tv-shows, Digimon. My favorite character was Yamato, who played the harmonica. This created for me the ultimate fascination for people who can play instruments ans I have always found people who can play something attractive and interesting.

4. Not To Tie Me Down

I am a free spirit. I love doing things at the spur of the moment. I would love to travel a lot in the future. What I want is a person who understands this and does not try to tie me down to one place. Best would be if they would love to travel with me, but if they don’t I would hope that they loved me enough to let me travel as much as I want to. Besides, I have grown used to the fact that I can come and go as I please, so I would never ask for permission to do so.

5. Understand That Being A Nerd Is A Huge Part Of My Life

I am not ashamed to admit that I am a huge nerd. It is a part of me so why should I? If you can’t understand that, then you ain’t worth my attention. I may spend a whole day watching my favorite shows or playing board games with friends. My friends and I may even have the bright idea of having a 24-hour Harry Potter marathon just for the hell of it. This is a part of who I am and if you can’t live with it, you don’t deserve to be in my life, much less be loved by me.

Neither do I tolerate the fact that you judge my nerd-friends and me because we are not afraid of showing who we are. So, if you can’t not judge us, you ain’t welcome.

On the other hand, if you love me for the nerd that I am, you are golden. I will appreciate all the things that make you you, so I would hope you would do the same.

10 Things That Make Me Happy

    1. My family

I love my family. No matter how much I say I dislike them at the moment, I know they love me and I hope they love me. Their happiness makes me happy. Even just talking to them can brighten up my day. Just as well as it can also make my day worse. Sometimes I can’t stand them, but all the same, I love them and they make me really happy.

    2. My friends

My friends, like my family can sometimes drive me absolutely mental. However, they are the people that also make me smile and laugh when I think I can’t. Without my friends I would be lonely and I am eternally thankful for meeting each and every one of them. They know I am obnoxious, loud and don’t care what other people think about me and yet they still tolerate me and my nerdy fangirling.

    3. Tintti (My cat)

She’s the most precious little furball there ever was. She’s also my first pet, so she will always have a special place in my heart. She turns 9 this year and I have loved all my years with her and will love all the years I yet have with her. I may not have her with me where I live because I live in a student house that does not allow pets. Plus, she would NOT appreciate the 8+ hour train/bus ride it takes to get to my hometown from here. The distance makes the time I have with her whenever I visit my parents all the more precious.

    4. Knitting and Crocheting

Like most people know, I love handcrafts, but especially knitting and crochet. There is always new things to learn and new patterns to try. Plus, whenever I give something I’ve made by my own hands to a friend or a family member, it fills me with joy and pride when they love whatever I have made. And it is the best way for me to be creative besides writing.

    5. Writing

Just like handcrafts, writing is something I do to be creative. I love to write and whether it is a blog post, just for my own amusement or fanfiction, writing always gives me some piece of mind. It is a way for me to deal with my emotions and feelings. My writing usually reflects my state of mind when I’m writing. Or then I just have an inspiration that I am afraid I’ll lose if I don’t write it down somewhere. Other people’s feedback and comments on my writing always make me happy.

    6. Music

Music is one of those things that reflects my mood. When I’m happy, I listen to happy music and when I’m sad I listen to sad music. When I am angry or frustrated at or because of something or someone I listen to what I like to call “örinämusaa”. Basically it is music that reflects my state of mind either by the melody or the lyrics, more often than not both. Bands such as Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin are some of my go-to’s when I’m in this sort of mood. However, music also has the ability to make me smile. Sometimes when I’m sad, I’ll listen to a song I love and I feel a lot better instantly.

    7. Nature

I love nature. Some may say I’m a nature hippie and that might be true. While I have lived in a city my whole life, my grandparents lived, and my grandmother still lives, in the country side. Their home is right beside a river and a forest. When I was a child I always loved visiting my grandparents because I got to run around in nature. Nowadays walking in the forest right behind my grandmother’s house makes me feel connected not only to nature, but to my late grandfather. Being in nature calms me and I love the sights and sounds of a forest or running water. If I could, I would live somewhere surrounded by nature with as many animals as I could gather.

    8. Animals

I love animals. No animal is too big or too scary to me. My friends find endless amount in the excitement I show when I talk about animals or even visit a zoo with countless animals. While I like people, I simply adore animals. They offer you companionship without the stress of having to be pleasant all the time. I guess that’s just the antisocial me talking but I prefer the company of animals to people. They don’t judge me and I don’t have to pretend to be something I am not to them.

    9. Binge-watching anime

I love anime and binge watching is something I usually do with a dear friend of mine. We usually just sit and watch anime for hours and talk nonsense and knit or crochet. It’s awesome.

    10.Books

I love books. I have so many and I can’t get enough. I am an avid reader and I try to read pretty much everything but I love Detective stories and Fantasy. Whenever I get my hands on a new book I just shiver with anticipation of the adventures the book will take me on.

My perfect rainy day

My perfect rainy day would be making myself a perfect sitting spot in my favorite chair. Then I would make myself a cup of hot chocolate or tea, take a good book and sit down. Then I’d make myself comfortable and start reading.

With the relaxing sound of rain hitting the roof mixing with the quiet tunes of my favorite music coming trough the speakers in the background I can relax and lose myself in a great book. Once in a while I would pick up my mug and sip a little hot chocolate and then continue reading. While reading a book I can forget about the world around me and even loose track of time.

That’s what my perfect rainy day would be.
